MEETING MINUTES

SUBJECT:       MGX PROJECT ENHANCEMENT MEETING

DATE:             10/5/2007

AGENDA:       MEETING WITH CLIENT PROF. WHITE

MGX PROJECT ENHANCEMENT STATUS MEETING

Attendees: Xu Elizabeth, Jinny Sebastian, Sadashivudu Basani, Carlton Vaz.

  1. Each organism (ie, the green1 flower in greenhouse) has a genotype (green1, green2, red, white) and a phenotype (green color, red color, white color). The fundamental of a gene is DNA, which can be transcripted into messenger RNA which finally translated into a protein.

  1. The organism we focus is diploid. It can be heterozygous (the alles equivalent gene pair one comes from mother and one inherited from father, are different) or homozygous (the alles inherited from two parents are the same).

  1. In genetics, we explore the inheritance and mutation rule. The organism can be self-crossed (mother and father are of the same organism) or cross with another organism (mother and father are of different organism). New genotype can be generated by mutation of the parent genotype.

  1. In molecular biology, we explore the relationship between DNA (gene) and protein (different protein might results in different phenotype).

  1. In biochemistry, we explore the protein property: structures, etc.

What we need to do:

1)      Add a new organism (eg. fish) into the green house.

a)      Create a set of alles

c)      Creature authoring tools for users to create organisms for the greenhouse.

2) Fix the current memory leak problem for tray history

The next team meeting will be with the client to present to him our understanding of the project.
