Windows System Administrator Position
Posted On: March 20, 2008 Company: Commonweatlh of Massachusetts, Information Technology Division Job Title: Windows System Administrator Description: The Windows System Administrator is responsible for administrating, maintaining, and supporting Windows servers. This person will also assist in the design and enhancements of Windows environments. Strong hands-on Windows administration and advanced troubleshooting methodology skills are required for this position. Responsibilities:- Evaluate existing environments, recommend, and create optimal performance.
- Manage Issue-Ticket Queue and resolve issues.
- Lead in troubleshooting efforts.
- Resolve issues in agreed upon timely manner.
- Provide options and status to management team.
- Create and/or maintain current documentation for environments supported.
- Build Systems according to agreed specifications and/or Statement of work.
- Foster and maintain good relationships with customers and ITD colleagues, and meet expected customer service levels
- Experience deploying, maintaining, and supporting Windows Operating Systems.
- IBM Hardware experience.
- Experience with analysis tools/commands.
- System security/Network security.
- Strong understanding of Database Concepts (SQL, Oracle).
- Analytical thinking & great problem solving skills along with conceptual thinking.
- Demonstrated excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
- B.S. in Computer Science or equivalent degree/experience.
