Walter
Gropius was the founder of the Bauhaus School in Dessau. He became
Chair of the Graduate School of Design at Harvard University in
1937. Among his students was I.M. Pei.
Gropius built his private
residence in Lincoln, Massachusetts. The building, including its
original interior, serves as a museum today.

The former private residence of
Walter Gropius in Boston is now museum. The interior is completely
preserved and the web site now features a photo tour. The building is
fascinating to visit!

Bauhaus School Building
in Dessau (in German)
This building was in use 1925 - 1933. Today
it is home to
the Bauhaus Foundation, called Bauhaus
Dessau. In 1997 the building
was added to UNESCO's list of World Heritage
along with Bauhaus in Weimar. Today, the Bauhaus Dessau is involved in
preservation, education, exhibitions and various other activities.
The
