Short Bio

I joined UMass Boston at 2014, where I founded and direct the Graphics and Virtual Environments Lab. I received my Ph.D. degree in Computer Science in 2013 from UCLA, where I was advised by Demetri Terzopoulos. I received my B.Eng and M.Phil. degrees in Computer Science from the HKUST. I was a visiting scientist at the SUTD-MIT International Design Center and a visiting scholar at the Computer Graphics Lab at Stanford University. I also worked at the Internet Graphics Group at Microsoft Research Asia.

My research interests are in computer graphics and vision. Currently, I am working on the topics of 3D model acquisition, content creation and reasoning from the functionality, physics, intentionality and causality perspectives. My lab receives generous support from the NSF, Nvidia and Oracle.
