Associate Professor, Computer Science
Director, Services Computing Lab
Short Bio
kkfletcher_imageA computer scientist and software engineer, Kenneth Fletcher is an Associate Professor of Computer Science at University of Massachusetts Boston (UMass Boston). His primary research focuses on how to improve the accuracy and diversity of recommender systems in the Services and Cloud Computing domain. In his research, he has worked with deep learning models like memory-based RNNs, RNNs with attention, Transformers, BERT and Reinforcement learning models for sequence-to-sequence recommendation. Kenneth also focuses on how to use machine learning to identify 3D part families, detect defects's and improve simulation performance in Metal Additive Manufacturing. At UMass Boston, Kenneth teaches software engineering and recommender system courses for both undergraduate and graduate levels. He has been a technical reviewer for several journals and conferences including the IEEE Transactions on Service Computing (TSC), IEEE Transactions on Network and Service Management (TNSM), IEEE Conference on Service Computing (SCC) and IEEE Conference on Web Services (ICWS), just to name a few.
