Visual Scanning Strategies

In which manner do we visually scan our environment? What are 
the mechanisms that control our eye movements when we inspect 
a scene or perform a visual task? I will present eye movement
studies in comparative visual and visual tagging tasks that 
identify some of the factors determining our scanning behavior. 
A variety of computational models of visual scanning are 
developed and empirically tested. The results of this analysis 
yield insight into basic mechanisms of eye-movement control.
