I received the B.S. degree in Computer Science from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro in Brazil.

After graduating, I worked for 3 years as a team leader in the Research and Development Engineering Department of TV Globo, a Brazilian broadcast company. During my last year in TV Globo, I worked for 5 months as a visiting researcher at the Tokyo Science & Technical Research Labs of NHK, a Japanese broadcast company. I contributed to the ISO/IEC MPEG-7 International Standard during my research at NHK.

In January 2008, I joined the M.S./Ph.D. program at the Department of Computer Science of the University of Massachusetts Boston.

I am a member of the Data Mining research group at the University of Massachusetts Boston and my advisor is Professor Dan A. Simovici. I am interested in Data Mining with applications to engineering, security, steganography and steganalysis of multimedia content.

I have piano classes with Professor Timothy McFarland at the University of Massachusetts Boston, College of Liberal Arts.
