Welcome to the New England High Schools Oral History Internet
Archive, University of Massachusetts, Boston. The archive, founded
in 1996, is a pilot project established to explore the positive,
educational uses of Internet publishing on the World Wide Web and to
encourage the study and collection of oral histories. The archive is
being implemented by the Software Engineering Research Laboratory,
a component of the Department of Mathematics and Computer
Science, University of Massachusetts, Boston. Professor Robert Morris, director of SERL,
is overseeing the project. Walter
Lucier, a history teacher at Sacred Heart High School, Kingston,
Mass., is serving as Director of the archive project. In that position, he
will serve as liaison between SERL and other schools interested in
joining the archive. Sacred Heart is piloting the establishment of the
archive.
