I was born in the south Indian city of Madras and grew up in Bombay. I received primary and secondary education from Model English School and higher secondary education from D.G. Ruparel College. I got my bachelor's degree in electronics and telecommunication from VESIT, Bombay, India in 1996 after which I worked for a couple of years as a software developer. I received my master's degree in computer science from University of Massachusetts at Boston in 2001 following which I worked again as a software developer until 2006. I have since been a full-time student at the University of Massachusetts at Boston, pursuing a doctoral degree in computer science. After graduating with a PhD, my goal is to pursue an academic career with both teaching and research responsibilities.
