Color Science for Computer Graphic Applications (3 credits)

Topics include color spaces, device independent imaging and international standards for describing, encoding, and transmitting color images. Students will learn about spectral power distributions of light sources, models of human color vision, CIE tristimulus values, Lab and Luv, RGB and CYMK image models and the relation between them. Programming exercises are usually in Matlab.

Pre-requisites

Math141 and Math260 and graduate standing in computer science or permission of the instructor.
