Tomcat port assignments CS636 Fall 2016

In Tomcat, for the minimal setup you need 2 ports. One for the main Connector element and one for the Server shutdown element

The main connector port is the one used in a URL when you use tomcat. Look for the string "main Connector port" in server.xml

The contents of tomcat.zip provide a server.xml with the default port assignments, good for use at home. They won't work on UNIX/Linux hosts.
Only the main connector port is listed below. For each student, use the listed number for the main Connector (replacing 8080), main+1 for the Server shutdown port (replacing 8005). The next 8 are reserved for you for as well.

You can run on any cs.umb.edu Linux host with Java 7 or 8 for quick tests. For long runs, use topcat.

main Connector port (replacing default 8080)
