CPA funds can be used for religious buildings & even restoring belfry chimes.  You can search the database of CPA funds used for religious buildings at https://www.communitypreservation.org/databank/projectsdatabase/access under Historic Structures to find examples of religious buildings from across the state. A wide variety of historic structures owned by non-profits are eligible for CPA funds.

MHC provides matching restoration funds for religious structures, among the many types of buildings eligible for their restoration grants.
