Life Experiences and Hobbies

What I've done throughout my life!

Life Experience

Through most of my life, I've always had an interest in exploring life to the fullest. I think life is more than just the status quo. Many of us should aim to be more than working class people. The pleasures of life should not be exclusive to the rich and wealthy. It's within our own right to be able to travel, build wealth, dine with the best people in the best places, and truly experience life with no regrets.

Camp Peniel - Nova Scotia

During the summers, I used to attend a christian camp named Camp Peniel. It was only for a week however back then that week seemed so long because the days would go real slow and being able to participate in activities throughout the day was fantastic. The one part I really enjoyed was how open and welcoming the people were to a group of different backgrounds. I remember we used to do usual camp activities such as canoeing, camp fire, camp stories, and reading from the bible. I enjoyed playing sports such as ultimate frisbee with my friend frost and more intensive games such as mission impossible at night and the paddle games. Camp was one of my most cherished times because that week felt like an entire month! My only wish would have been to stay longer.

YDIP

My life has been one of many challenges up to this point, I was ridiculed as a kid for simply acting out and being wild. I was the troublemaker, the prankster, the kid who got suspended so many times in school that I don't even know how I came this far in life. However, certain experiences in life have allowed me to discipline myself and continue improving and aiming towards something greater in life. One experience was a program called YDIP at Northeastern University. (Youth Development Project). Dr. Joseph Warren created the program with the intention of showing inner city kids a different path through unique educational opportunities and workplace experience in different offices through NEU. I had the opportunity to work with his daughter in E-Communications office and beta test their first app! I also traveled to different college campuses and states with my classmates during the summer!

Global Potential and Photography

I've also had an interest in photography and traveling. I had another opportunity to participate in a program called global potential. This program opened up my mind to the world at large and elevated my perspective on life. I attended weekly workshops and the topics centered on youth development and issues within the small communities and world at large. The program had 3 phases. The first involved the weekly meetings. The second centered on a 6 week trip to another country. I spend my time in Batey Cuchilla, Dominican Republic. It was a very challenging experience because the community did not have the same lifestyle as a community in a developed country. I struggled throughout those 6 weeks however the experience taught me so much about life and why I should cherish my experiences! Below are pictures of my trip and some of the photography I do.
