Accommodations for Disabilities
Section 504 of the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 offers
guidelines for curriculum modifications and adaptations for students
with documented disabilities. If applicable, students may obtain
adaptation recommendations from the
Ross Center for Disability
Services, Campus Center, Upper Level, Room 211
(617-287-7430, TTY 617-287-7436).
Here is some information from a previous incarnation of their web site:
- If you anticipate barriers related to the format or requirements
of this course, please meet with me so that we can discuss ways to
ensure your full participation in the course.
- If you determine that disability-related accommodations are
necessary, please register with the Ross Center for Disability
Services (www.rosscenter.umb.edu; 617-287-7430).
We can then plan how best to coordinate those accommodations.
- It is the policy and practice of the University of Massachusetts
Boston to create inclusive learning environments. If there are aspects
of the instruction or design of this course that result in barriers to
your inclusion or to accurate assessment of achievement, please notify me
as soon as possible.
- If you anticipate not being able to participate or effectively
demonstrate learning in this class due to the instructional format or
design of the class, please meet with me to discuss options or
