Soheil Sepahyar

About Me

Hello and welcome to my professional page! I am Dr. Soheil Sepahyar, a dedicated and innovative lecturer in Computer Science at the University of Massachusetts Boston. With a strong background in Virtual Reality (VR) and Augmented Reality (AR), my expertise lies in pushing the boundaries of immersive technology and human-computer interaction.

I earned my Ph.D. in Computer Science from Michigan Technological University in Fall 2023, where my research focused on enhancing distance perception in VR environments. My work in this area has been recognized through multiple publications and awards, showcasing my commitment to advancing the field.

At UMass Boston, I am passionate about teaching and mentoring the next generation of computer scientists. I cover a range of subjects, including CS220 Applied Discrete Mathematics, CS210 Intermediate Computing, CS240 Programming in C, CS410 Software Engineering and CS450 The Structure of Higher-Level Languages. My industry experience includes significant roles at Visteon Automotive, where I contributed to cutting-edge projects in AI, ML, and automated driving systems.
