Identification:
Small, antennae black, marginal white spots on forewing and hindwing, few large spots on forewing.

Wingspan: 54-55mm

Forewing length: 28mm


Local distribution: Widespread on both slopes, but not reaching the lowland dry forest on the Pacific side, and not resident in the cloud forest.

Similar species: Napeogenes peredia, Mechanitis polymnia, Hypothyris lycaste

Species range: Mexico to South America

Abundance: Uncommon

Larval host plants: Lycianthes multiflora

Early stages: Solitary

Comments: Found in both mature forest and secondary areas.
