I am looking at buying a house originally built in 1725 and moved to Southfield in 1980. The chimney was built new at that time but within the original dimensions to fit into the original internal structure. A local chimney sweep gave the seller an informal assessment that expressed concerns over the sizes and shapes of the flues. At least some of the fireplaces themselves seem to have original brick structures, such as baking ovens and pot hangers.

I would very much like to have a Level 2 inspection of the whole set-up to be sure I can safely use them. I am looking for someone who has expert knowledge of historic fireplaces.

I have a number of pictures I can supply to show the fireplaces and some of the exposed chimney construction in the attic if that would be helpful.

Thanks in advance.
