[MassHistPres] Fee for HD Applications?

Krissy,

The momentum that allowed Hopkinton to increase its Demo Delay from 6
months to 18 months was driven by the threat of a developer tearing down
the Aaron Claflin Inn, where George Washington was reputed to have stayed.
While this example was not germane to the original establishment of the
demo bylaw, it demonstrates the public empathy that helped drive the
increase in delay.

For Carlisle, are there any ‘stories’ of lost or threatened historic
structures that you can identify to help champion the establishment of the
demo delay?

Having a compelling rationale for the initiative goes a long way to gain
resident support and subsequent approval.

Regards,

Mike
