  1. How to use use Weka in CS department UNIX/PC lab?

Weka is installed in computers labeled PCLab01 to PCLab10 and PCLab16 to PCLab25 in the CS Department's Unix/PC lab (S-3-158). There are some required steps students need to follow in order to use the computers in the UNIX/PC lab.

    1. Students need to apply for a course account. For doing this, please go to the Unix/PC lab, at a Sun workstation, and use a "console session" to avoid Xwindows, login as user apply with password apply. Then, follow the instructions on the screen to register yourself to CS670 or CS470 course.
    2. To use Weka, please go to computer labeled PCLab01 to PCLab10 or PCLab16 to PCLab25. Then, login with your login and the default password given in the class. Then, you need to change the password. Please consult the the department computer lab policies how to choose a good password.
Students must do step 1 (register for a course account) as soon as possible. Otherwise, the system administrator will not be able to generate account for step 2.

  2. What ID and password do students use to log-in to the UMassOnline Blackboard Learning System (BLS)?

Your BLS Vista User Name is "UMS" plus your Student ID ex. UMS1234567890 and your initial password is boston, all lower case.

Once you log-in, you will be prompted to change your password. Make sure you fill out the secret question category--this will allow you to retrieve your password via email if you forget it.

All students of CS 470/670 Artificial Intelligence will receive an email notification in their UMB Student Email account. All students at UMass have such an account. If you haven't accessed this account yet, please go to UMass Student Email to find more information. You can also have all mailed forward from your UMass Boston email to another email account.
