I am Director of the Network Information Systems Lab (NISLab), advising my PhD students on research in various areas of networking and distributed data systems. Past projects include (1) efficient data distribution for on-demand and live streaming video services, (2) decentralized techniques for distributed data storage and retrieval, and (3) low-cost sensor network designs for target monitoring and location-based services. Currently, I am actively working on fast and efficient algorithms for learning and processing of big network data that comes, for example, from the Internet of Things (IoT), in a stream manner, serving social, sensing, storage, and search applications.
